East Loop
East Loop was founded by Wanees Zarour and a group of Chicago based composers and band leaders to create a Middle Eastern, Jazz and Funk band. Members include jazz guitarist Sam Mosching, saxophonist and clarinetist Bryan Pardo, Trombonist Catie Hickey, Bassist Vinny Kabat and Drummer Nick Kabat. The high energy band performs complex material that makes you think and dance at the same time. The compositions are written in both the jazz and Middle Eastern traditions together, creating a convincing fusion that is not forced. This is Wanees Zarour’s newest project, work is underway to produce the band’s debut album.
